Biography
Yehudi Mercado is a proud Mexican-Jewish storyteller from Mexico City, raised in Texas, with a passion for creating bold, character-driven worlds across film, animation, theme parks, and comics. As a screenwriter, cartoonist, and director, he was recently directing an original feature he wrote for DreamWorks Feature Animation and has helmed Cinema 4-D attractions for Universal Studios Japan—including Detective Conan 4D Live and Chainsaw Man: The Chaos 4D.
Yehudi is the creator of acclaimed graphic novels such as PANTALONES, TX, FUN FUN FUN WORLD, HERO HOTEL, ROCKET SALVAGE, and SCI-FU, as well as the award-winning memoir CHUNKY, spotlighted in The New York Times. He’s also written and illustrated two middle-grade titles for DC Comics—including SHAZAM: Thundercrack and Barkham Asylum, set in the Batman universe—and served as showrunner for the narrative podcast adaptation of HERO HOTEL on the Pinna Network.
